HONOLULU, Hawai’i – About a dozen state lawmakers will channel their inner Picasso as they join in a fun and creative endeavor by creating a self-portrait under the tutelage of professional artists. In the spirit of camaraderie and festivity, these Senators and Representatives are willingly participating in an art contest that is part of this year’s Art at the Capitol from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at the State Capitol. Their self-portraits will be on display at the Capitol during the event and will be judged by professional artists and by the public that evening.

Cameras are welcome at the art class; the most visual time may be between 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Art at the Capitol allows the public to access Lawmakers offices in the State Capitol to see the public art in their offices.
